March Give-Away...

Well I spent Sunday finishing my March Give-Away and I have to admit he is really cute!!! Introducing raggedy "Andy O'Toole."I found a pattern "Raggedy Babies" (from Hanging by a Thread by Connie's Calicos,Too) and adapted it into one wee handsome fellow (12" tall) with his shamrocks on display for all to see. Beginning of a Sad Day...Brightened!

When I woke up this morning, my thoughts were on my beloved brother Jesse "Raye." Today is the one year anniversary of his passing to a better place. I miss seeing his handsome face and hearing his beautiful voice. Although, he was 9 years older than myself he "got me." We could talk about anything with neither of us judging the other. Even though we were apart for 20 years, when we reconnected in the late 90's it was as if we were never separated. Rest in peace brother until we are together once again!

To cheer me up one of my "besties" talked me into going to a wool class at a local quilt shop (Cinnamon's). We had a blast learning stuff about stitching with wool and even made a "Wooly Jar." We had lunch together and laughed and I will have to admit I even teared up at times. It was great getting to spend the day with her as we don't get to visit together as often as we would like. She lives in Gainesville, FL and we have decided we will have to make the time to see each other...you never know when that time will be gone. Thanks to my "bestie" Dodi...you really brightened up my day!

Micro Minis' New Home!

Well the girls have found a new home! The micro mini Annies are leaving tomorrow for California. Thanks Bridgid for giving them a home. I guess I need to get busy and stitch up a couple more. Don't forget the drawing for their sister will be in 6 days....

Well I finished the micro mini Annies for my Etsy site! I made them from a pattern by Shawnette Imseeingraggedies and they are so cute.  Don't forget I am giving one away on February 29th so sign up for my give-away if you haven't already...here they are.

What New Year's Resolution?

Well so much for my New Year's resolution to finish a project before starting another...my ADD has won out! This weekend I worked on pins (winter, Christmas, teacher) and my snowman Christmas balls that were a hit last year at "Christmas in the South." I purchased quite a few...okay a bunch of Christmas tree balls and thought I better get started on them again. They were made from a pattern by Laura Narveson (Adeline's) and turn out so cute! The pins are from a 1997 pattern by Karen Sippel (Karen's Kraftwear) and are made from covered buttons. I just love pins...they can make quite a statement!

I'm continuing to work on the two micro mini Annie ornies by Shawnette Imseeingraggedies for my Etsy...sew the clothes and dress them and they will be done. However, my mind is already wandering to my March give-away. The body is traced and ready to be stitched. Sneak peek below...

Fallen Hero

Such a sad day here in Clay County Florida. We have lost a hero in our community, Detective David White, from the Clay County Sheriff's Office. He was the first officer killed in 99 years in the line of duty in our county and was laid to rest today. Last week his team tried to gain entry into a suspected meth house and was fatally shot and his partner wounded. This really hits home as my son is a deputy with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office in Palatka, FL. I try really hard not to take for granted every minute I get to spend with him and never part without each saying "I Love You." Please pray for his family...parents, wife, daughter (4years) and son (5 months) in the difficult days they have endured and are yet to come. To all those in law enforcement...be careful & come home safely to your loved ones. To Detective White...godspeed...heaven needed another hero.

Happy Valentine's Day!

What a wonderful day....dinner, flowers & card from hubby, phone call with each of my terrific sons, a visit with both of my parents and many cards and love gifts from my "fabulous" first grade class. What more could a girl want? Hope everyone had a wonderful day!
