Look What Brightened My Day...

After a long day at school, including extended day duty, look what hopped onto my doorstep today! Cyndy over at Crafty Stitchers sent me her last give-away which really brightened my day. When I opened the box...I found a cute Easter card, a little felt egg with a chick peeking out, and her bunny. "WOW" it's all too cute! Thanks to Cyndy again for hosting a great give-away. If you aren't familiar with Cyndy's work hop on over to her blogspot...you can link through this blog. Check out her Etsy too...real cute items. Her raggedies are my favorites...I own quite a few!

A Busy Weekend...

Oh where did this weekend go? Saturday, I went with my friend Dodie to another wool class and made a crow to hold my needles. Spent the morning inside with a great group of stitchers while it stormed outside. The forecast said some parts of north Florida got two weeks of rain in one morning. We sure do need it....just not all at once!

I spent Sunday riding with my hubby down to Satsuma to visit my son and to see the house we will be co-renting on the St. Johns river with him. He will be living in it...we will be visiting often for a little rest and relaxation.
I also wanted to share a ballerina bunny I worked on over spring break. This was a pattern from an old magazine that I came across when looking for patterns for next year's show. Her body is made out of flannel and I'm not sure if I'm crazy about it. Working on another one with the body made out of plush felt. I'll post when she is done...hope to put them on my Etsy site when I'm satisfied with how they look. I didn't get to finish them spring break as I picked up some "bug" and was sick most of the break. Now I'm back to work with a short week...report cards...personal evaluation to schedule...and FCAT looming.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week...now off to finish watching "The Killing" and do some hand stitching on my baby pin ornaments. Until next time...Darlene xxoo

April Give-Away...March 18, 2012

Just finished my April Give-Away! I would have finished last weekend but the pollen (hazard of living in sunny Florida) has gotten the better of me this week. I dragged myself to work each day with the thought of spring break keeping me going. That is a great motivater! Anyway....here is a sweet little bunny made from a 1996 pattern by Dee Longwith called "Carrot Bunch Bunnies." I just love pulling out long forgotten patterns and bringing them back to life. This cute and cuddly 7" baby bunny is made out of Antique White plush felt with a mint green fabric bow. He also has a companion heart to help show his love. I hope you fall in love with him and enter this give-away...here's how!
